Working at Spotify is my proudest accomplishment. It is a fantastic company where I was fortunate to edit beautiful short and feature length documentaries, music videos and performances on a daily basis for roughly five years.
Cover Stories
“Cover Stories” were the main video for each playlist for each week.
I was the lead editor on a considerable amount of them, but here are a few favorites.
Phoenix - Cover Story “Ti Amo”
This was the first video I made at Spotify. Phoenix discusses their new album titled "Ti Amo" before a show in Miami, Florida.
Paramore - Cover Story
I admired that Paramore discussed their feelings instead of the sound of their new album. It felt more like a documentary than the usual promo piece.
Papa Roach - Cover Story Pt. 1
Jacoby Shaddix, aka Papa Roach, expressed such beautiful vulnerability over the course of parts 1 and 2 of his cover story. Editing these was a privilege.
Mason Ramsey - Cover Story ★
Probably the video I’m the most proud of. It got turned into a feature length documentary, not yet released, directed by Elise Tyler.
Kenny Chesney - Cover Story
My first video for the playlist “Hot Country”. Earlier versions included better B-Roll coverage and beats. Kenny’s love for music was infectious.
Papa Roach - Cover Story “Part 2”
Jacoby dives deeper.
Other Shorts
We produced many other kinds of short videos such as “How I Wrote This,” “Influentials,” or Official Music Videos.
Weezer - “Feels Like Summer” (How I Wrote This)
This was my first "How I Wrote This" piece at Spotify. Although I was limited in footage, I was happy with how I was able to make it work.
Cage The Elephant - (Influential)
Cage The Elephant discusses his admiration for the honest and poetic music of Daniel Johnston.
Alice Merton - "No Roots” (Music Video)
Alice Merton performs her hit “No Roots” in a bus. Link to the video on Alice Merton’s Facebook Page.
Barns Courtney - “Golden Dandelions” (How I Wrote This)
Barns Courtney discusses difficult subjects with a unique perspective.
